Years ago, some scientist decided that the planet Mobius wasn't that advanced so they placed a protective status on it, thus no one was able to enter or go close, but Professor Kintobor wanted to investigate the peaceful green planet. In a small space ship, he broke passed the barrier and crash landed on the planet. He then decided to create an underground lab so he could observe the planet without effecting it. After a while, the Young hedgehog 'Sonic', found his hidden lab and became his assistant. As well as helping Kintobor search for the Chaos Emeralds, Kintobor was also able to test out a number of inventions on Sonic, including his power sneakers, which lead to Sonic turning Blue. One day, Kintobor went to get something to eat but all he found was an old egg. As he was taking it to be prepared, he tripped and landed on his Retro Orbital Chaos Compressor, which housed the Chaos Emeralds. This lead to a large explosion, and when the smoke cleared, Kintobor was now Doctor Ivo Robotnik!Dr Robotnik tried to take over the world of Mobius and make it his own. In order to do this, he started to kidnap the animals of Mobius and turn them into Robotic slaves called 'Badniks'. However, Sonic the Hedgehog was able to fight against Robotnik and stop him. Every time Robotnik tried to take over the world, Sonic was always there to stop him, yet he keeps trying in the hope that one day, he will win.
